This nursing school thing is cutting into my reading, y’all. It’s just horrible. But this is what I have read in the last two months.
Spark Joy: An Illustrated Master Class on the Art of Organizing and Tidying Up by Marie Kondo. I have read her second book and liked it, but I thought I should read her first book. I liked this one SO much better. It felt so much more practical and applicable. I actually learned a few things, which I would love to apply. You know, when I have time again.
Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton. I don’t know how I went this long in life before reading this book, but I probably could have gone a lot longer. Perhaps because I grew up on the movie, I just, well, I like the movie better. There I said it. I like the movie better.
The Swans of Fifth Avenue by Melanie Benjamin. This is a retelling of the history between Babe Parley and Truman Capote. I really actually enjoyed it. They were both such broken, yet intriguing people. It isn’t the most brilliant book ever, but it was very enjoyable.
Notorious Nineteen by Janet Evanovich. This is the first Stephanie Plum book I have read and I really liked it. It was funny and engaging. Less of a true mystery and more of an adventure story. I read it on the cruise ship during break and this was the perfect beach book.
I read two Agatha Christie books this month. Travel makes me want to get my mystery on and I had never read Agatha before. I know, CRAZY! I read the Murder of Roger Ackroyd and The Moving Finger. I absolutely adored the former and was grossly disappointed by the latter. But I will definitely be picking up more Agatha Christie.
