One of the stops on our cruise is Cozumel, Mexico, and I cannot wait to go back. The last time I was here, I was traveling with two of my girlfriends and we took an excursion to Tulum to see the ruins there.
At first we were a little unsure about picking this excursion since it was an all day trip and Tulum was a boat ride and a drive away from Cozumel. But boy are we glad we did!
I have been privileged enough in my life to see Mayan ruins all over Latin America, and this is probable tied with Copan, Honduras as my favorite Mayan ruins I have visited. If I haven’t convinced you to take a cruise yet, check out this amazing city you could see.
Tulum is a seaside city with the most spectacular beaches.
But it is truly the ruins themselves that are breathtaking.
Why is that a Purple Parrot shirt at a temple? Yes, yes it is.
The ruins here are expansive with so much to explore. However, it was really well laid out with easy paths to follow and plenty of signage.
We spent approxamently four hours at the ruins and, while there was still more to see, we were ready to be done since it was so insanely hot.
Pack your bottle of water and go see these ruins if you get the chance.
