Most [aka ALL] women have those supposedly feminine things we fail at. As someone who is a beauty junkie, fashion lover, and devotee to all things classically female, it can be easy to feel like a big time girl failure when attempting the various trappings of socially accepted womanhood. And these are only the things I’m interested in doing, not the stuff I can’t be bothered to even pretend to care about (sunless tanning, yeah right, pale all the way over here)
So, if today is the day you feel like a “bad girl” (not in the sexy, edgy way, but in the “how the hell do I not know how to do this way”), today’s post is for you. Don’t worry, lady. We all suck at something and it gives us stuff to keep working on. Or a reason to drink wine.
Nails – love painting them, but I’m lazy. They are always chipped. And let’s not even pretend to do nail art.
Dyeing my hair. OMG. I’m so bad at this. I’m too cheap to have it done professionally, so I always have a disaster of a home dye job. It’s not even that I don’t know how to do it. I just can’t manage to figure out how to touch it up every 4 weeks.
Taking pictures of myself. I want this blog to be more focused on practical fashion but I suck at self-posing. I look like a trout in all my pictures. You probably don’t think that is possible, oh, but it is.
My knees always have hair on them. ALWAYS. Like 15 seconds after I shave them, I have always managed to miss the same spot and have weird blonde hair sticking up. It’s like a physics anomaly.
Bronzer. I just…. Sigh.
So here is to you and me, madam. Working on what we want to care about, when we have the time to do so!
