July has already started, but we still have a lot of summer left to enjoy. If you are in the Louisville area, here are some of my favorite ways to spend time with Z. in our lovely city.
Shakespeare in the Park. Louisville’s central park puts on plays every summer all for free. There are food trucks, wonderful productions, and just a generally lovely time.
A picnic at Bernheim, followed by a hike. Bernheim is about 35 minutes outside the city, on the outskirts of Bardstown, KY (most adorable small town in America, by the way). It is so beautiful with great picnic spots and hiking trails for all fitness levels.
A perfect for all seasons is Flea off Market. The most hipster flea market you can imagine, food trucks, and amazing people watching. They are held once a month on the weekend and you can check out their Facebook page for more details.
Catch a classic Hitchcock movie at the Palace. Every Friday and Saturday night at 8 p.m. for $5, you can channel your inner 1940s date and head over to the gorgeous palace theatre. If you live in the area and you haven’t caught a show there, add it to your must do list.
